Atlantic Coast Snows History

This is the time series of the pattern of snows on the Piedmont resulting from Atlantic Coast Storms like the Blizzard of 1996. Blue indicates years where the Piedmont snow pattern was more frequent than average and pink years where this snowfall pattern was less frequent than average. There is no statistically significant trend in the data and no support for the notion that global warming is causing such storms to increase in frequency (Knappenberger, 1990).
