PASTAprog Help

PASTAprog is a web service that automatically generates statistical programs (Matlab, R, SAS and SPSS) based on metadata. It extracts metadata from the LTER PASTA data server (and optionally any online Ecological Metadata Language (EML) document)

• http://www.vcrlter.virginia.edu/webservice/PASTAprog/knb-lter-vcr.26.20.r
  where knb-lter-vcr.26.20 is replaced by the package ID of the dataset you are interested in and the suffix (e.g., .r) indicates the desired type of program. Package identifiers can be looked up at https://portal.lternet.edu.

  For Matlab programs substitute _ (underscore) for the periods in the package name to avoid problems with Matlab's file naming conventions. Thus: knb-lter-vcr.26.20.m should become knb-lter-vcr_26_20.m

• If metadata is not yet available in the LTER PASTA server, the URL:
  http://www.vcrlter.virginia.edu/webservice/PASTAprog/myprogram.r?emlurl=http://myserver.edu/myEMLDoc.xml
  can be used, where emlurl is set to the location of an EML document on the web.
